I haven't upgraded my pc which I use primarily for gaming and video editing in 6+ years. Since my build I have been saving money here and there for future upgrades so money is not an issue. I am looking forward to get the GTX970 but I am afraid my old build will not be able to handle it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Current Build:
MB-Gigabyte P55M-UD2
CPU-intel (r) core tm i5 750 @ 2.67HGz
GPU-Nvidia GT250
RAM- 4GB
Power- 500w

i7-875K will work in your motherboard, depending on the power supply you have you can just get the 970 and it will work fine, for a lower quality power supply you'd want to upgrade that also. I agree with the above about RAM, for a nice gaming system you want 8 GB.
