Hello, I´m having a very low image rate when running Assasins Creed Unity (10-12 fps). I´m wondering if it´s a driver issue or a incompatibility with AMD´s hardware.

Processor: FX-8350 (4.2 GHz overclocked)
Graphic Card: HIS R9 270x 2 GB. Driver version: 13.251.0.0.
RAM: 8 GB at 2133

Excuse me for my english. I'm from Cuba, but I prefer this forum to other in Spanish. Thanks.

Solution
it's not really a driver issue, it's a problem with the game. Ubisoft has said that their game has trouble running on AMD hardware. they're working on it, but it comes down to Ubisoft not testing the PC versions of the game properly before selling it.

Ok. I thought so. A friend of mine is running this game on a GTX 660 with an i3-4130 without any kind of problem (20-22 fps, settings in high at 1080 p) Thanks for your answer...

20fps is a problem in itself

You are right, but he should have lower frame rates than me, that´s what I meant.

Hey,

Ubisoft has already responded saying part of the problem is the number of CPU calls which is bottlenecking CPU's. The number of people in particular in large crowds is a huge problem.

Unfortunately they also said that part is not easily solved (so why the heck did they design it this way?). Note that the PS4 was dropping to 19FPS and that was a CPU issue.

The R9-270X GPU as well as the 2GB of Video memory may be causing problems at times as well depending on the settings but I don't know enough about the game to say for sure.

A LOT of people are upset with Ubisoft and rightly so.

*I'm willing to bet Ubisoft goes back and reduces the size of crowds for a future update to smooth out that portion of the game.

**As for running NOW, the only thing you can do is adjust the RESOLUTION and Game Settings until you achieve playable frame rates. I suggest NO VSYNC if screen tearing isn't too bad and aim for 40FPS average if possible as that will dip closer to 20FPS at times.

(personally I would put the game aside for at least two months so hopefully a few patches help the game. For now play Watch Dogs... sorry couldn't resist.)

well, not hardware related, but Ubisoft stock prices TANKED nearly 10% due to this issue... so at least the company have some strong incentives to fix it :)

Ubisoft is really screwed up.
Their stock PLUMMETED just based on the delay of Watch Dogs which may be why they released it prematurely:

But then the game sucked, they lost a potential new IP source, don't learn their lesson on releasing broken games and do it again with Unity.

STOCK PRICES can easily rebound, especially if the game does well. Smart investors are in it for the long haul. Having major issues with a game may not causes prices to plummet in the short term necessarily but it's worse for the company in the long run which is something any good company should know.

I hope they learn from this, but I think a lot of buyers will be more wary of Ubisoft games and stay way from PREORDERING in particular which is a huge part of their revenue.
