Hi All

This is my first thread and this is first time i am assembling my computer on my own.

I have bought Cooler Master 690 III cabinet, ASUS Maximus VII Hero Motherboard, Intel Core i7-4790K Processor, Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, Intel 730 SERIES 2.5-Inch 480 GB SSD .

I want to know which power supply i should opt for and which video card and graphic card i should prefer ?

Above i am not building a gaming machine but a high performance business machine, which i may also use as a server.

I would really appreciate your support.

Thanks

Listen to mlga91, he helped me with mine :p
But yeah, 550W+ is pretty standard although as you're not going to use any power hungry GPU, you could opt for waaay less power than the average gamer needs.

If you'd like, you could probably even try making a mATX kit and use a smaller case. Less power consumption and less size, win win if you're happy without a GPU.

Thanks SHATORR. I really appreciate replies given by you and mlga91.

I would go with a standarad psu . I am thinking to buy Corsair power supply. I hop that works, what do you say ?

Unfortunately i have already ordered motherboard and cabinet as told above. So i will have to go with that configuration only :(

Thanks a lot

I have no idea how much power your system will actually consume, lol
But yeah, if you're to get a PSU, go for quality! It'll sound less, give off less heat and live longer. EVGA has some pretty wonderful PSU's (I'm looking at you, Supernova)!

Actually, the other day darkbreeze taught me 80+ certification is bs.

So yeah, it's better to just go with a good quality PSU, such as the EVGA Supernova series.

As for the GPU, I recommend something from this list:

It just depends on how powerful you want it to be.

Based on the websites you've linked, 80+ Certification is only BS when other people have tested the PSU and found to be less efficient than stated. Though 80+ Certification is not always true, it is a good guideline to gauge a PSU's efficiency. If you looked at the Rosewill Capstone's reviews, you'll notice the actual efficiency is actually GREATER than what ECOS rated them for.

The EVGA Supernova Series is much more expensive and less efficient at his power requirements (the less load a PSU gets, the less efficient it is), I don't understand why you keep recommending it.

The Rosewill Capstone 450W Gold certification is REAL. See HERE for review and measured results. In fact, the PSU is so efficient, it is close to 80+ Platinum. This is honestly the best PSU you can get under 500W.

Trust me, I do extensive research before recommending anything.
