Let's say I want to upgrade my RAM to Team Elite DDR3 PC12800 1600Mhz Dual Channel 8GB (2X4GB)

The homepage states that my motherboard will be compatible with 1600MHz, but the asterisk mark is kinda concerning. Does that means I would have to configure my bios to make it properly work or something?

I am an amateur when it comes to bios config so yeah..

Should I upgrade to 1600MHz RAM or should I stick with 1333MHz?

You can do it from the BIOS which is accessible by pressing the delete button on your keyboard while the PC is booting. That will take you to a selection of menus that looks like this http://www.overclock3d.net/gfx/articles/2010/02/15024231906l.jpg and you should use the arrow keys to move over to the heading marked "Cell Menu".

Once in "Cell Menu" you'll see a screen that looks like this http://www.manualslib.com/manual/680384/Msi-H55m-E32.html?page=53#manual at which point you should use the arrow keys to move to where it says "Current DRAM Frequency". Once there select it and you should have a choice of options, one of which should be labelled "XMP Profile". Select that one and it should automatically adjust the speed of your RAM to...

Can I ask how to access this overclock menu?

Then simply back out of the menus, being sure to select "Save changes and exit/reboot".

TA DA! You're done.
