I would like to connect my computer to a 32' 1080p TV through HDMI and a 19" computer monitor through VGA. I like to play some games on my pc but nothing performance heavy. I am looking to upgrade my graphics card to something mid level and would really like some input. I am also going to be upgrading my PSU. Below are links to my machine and the graphic card I am interested in upgrading to. I also included two others that do not quite match what I am looking for but was advised would be better then my selection. Would these graphics cards be compatible and could you recommend a graphics card to me that has VGA, HDMI and about the performance level of the 3 listed. Thank you so much in advance!

I think you should go for the 260X. It'll need a 450W PSU. The 6970 is old and would need 550W.

What PSU is in there now? The CX600 isn't a great PSU.

Does the HP have standard ATX connections from the PSU. A lot don't and you can't put anything but another HP PSU in.

A lot of the time it is too difficult to upgrade pre-builts - especially from HP and Dell.

That is a standered ATX case with a basic ATX power supply that can handle a 750 GTX or 750 TI not the heavy super clocked versions.

Can be ran without a power supply upgrade.

Gigabyte GTX 750 $99

EVGA 750 Ti 2GB $119

For $130 at the moment this is the best deal you will find.

PowerColor TurboDuo R9 270 2GB $108.99

All GPU's that don't supply a VGA connector will supply a DVI to VGA adapter.
If you replace your power supply stick to one under 550W, that motherboard doesn't like going to much beyond that.

its a 300 watt PSU. This is the specs for my Mobo. http://prntscr.com/56jvi8 will this fit ATX?

No matter what im going to upgrade the PSU and if my mobo can take it im going to go with the 600 watts. I hear the one you recommend is very good and I would like to get that one if it is compatible. I was thinking that DDR5 and PCI-E 3.0 might be too fast for my PC? My computers ram is DDR3 with PCI-E 2.0.

The current PSU I have is only 300 watts. I think I'd have to upgrade and was hoping to stay within 550-600 watts. Do you think 600 will be too much? here is an SS of my mobos specs: http://prntscr.com/56jvi8

Also I am worried that since my computers ram is DDR3 and my slots are PCI-E 2.0 I wont get maximum performance as many of the graphics cards are DDR5 and PCI-E 3.0. Would that make a difference?

1. You can fit any card under 8.5 inches in that case with ease, a 9 inch card can fit but you will need to do a little modification to the upper drive bay. All 3 cards I suggested plus the R7 260X will fit.

2. PCI-e 2.0 vs PCI-e 3.0 will you notice any difference when running a Stock A6 or A8 APU? No

3. Do not go over a 550watt power supply on that Holly board besides being a overkill its not recommend by the MFD.

Now lets look at speed of the cards vs current sale prices.

R9 270 "$99" > 750T "$119" > R7 260X "$77" >750 GTX "$99"

I spent a few hours looking into this and I did get my Radeon RX 580 working with this PC by doing a motherboard bios update. The PCI slots are version 2 and the video card is PCI 3. Everything I have read says they are backwards compatible.

I was getting no video after I installed my card. Updated the bios to HP version 8 and now the video card works. I had a hard time finding the bios update so the link is below. I have an H8-1234. I hope this helps someone. I registered here so I could respond in hopes someone else may be able to fix this issue also.
