I built a new computer today (some parts came from last pc) my last computer worked fine, u upgraded to a new cpu, motherboard and cpu cooler. The specs:
CPU: Intel i5-4690k
Motherboard: Asus Z97i-plus
Power Supply Seasonic 660W platinum
GPU: EVGA GTX 670
CPU Cooler: Corsair H60
Ram: 16GB (2x8) Corsair vengeance pro 2133
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 500GB
I hooked everything up (meticulously) and when i turned on the computer everything ran but my monitor would not recieve a new input.

I dont know what to do because i am almost positive everything is hooked up correctly. I also swapped parts from my HTPC into this computer to see if i could decipher what has gone bad. I have run out of things to try.

Could it be possible the CPU or motherboard were DOA?
I swapped an i3-4130t from htpc into this computer and it still did the same thing (and on top of that my htpc wont boot up now)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
-Eric

It doesn't boot, but will it post?

Remove the graphics card and have your monitor run off the board's graphics port. This will eliminate the possibility of the GPU causing problems. Your processor has integrated graphics.

Have it run with only one stick of RAM, reconnect the 24 pin and 8 pin power cables on the board, and ensure your monitor is set to display from the correct input.

I highly doubt it's the CPU. I've yet to come across a modern Intel processor which DOA'd. Motherboards, on the other hand, tend to fail pretty often, and sometimes can cause damage to the CPU.

Re-sit your GTX670 and make sure its properly settled in. Are all the fans spinning? Are you sure you plugged the power headers in properly and made sure positive -> positive, negative -> negative? A lot of people mix up the headers' polarity, the header with a "triangle" or "arrow" is the GROUND wire or negative head.

Yes all of the fans are spinning but i do not get any beeps. Tried switching the power and reset headers around and still got the same outcome. I removed the GPU from the computer and have ran the graphics through the MB. I tested both sets of memory in my roommates computer and that booted up fine.

-I think it does post (no beeps but the MemOK! LED is lit along with Power LED)
-GPU removed
-Have only one stick of Ram in slot A and reconnected the power cables.
-Monitor is on the correct setting
-The DRAM_LED (MemOK!) is lit on my motherboard and consulting the ASUS manual it says that if the memory is not compatible the LED will be lit, It also states that if i hold the MemOK! button until the LED starts flashing it will run a test. I got it to run the test and after the LED is lit again claiming that the memory is not compatible.

UPDATE: I tried the 1 stick in Slot B and that actually worked. Turned the computer off and tried two sticks again and that will not. What could be causing this? (i did test the ram out in the roommates computer and it worked) so is it possibly a bad memory slot on the motherboard? or could a BIOS update fix this? I will begin to try these and hopefully answer my own questions but since i had the downtime figured i could get you guys started on giving me options. Thanks a bunch

Looks like your motherboard is refusing to run with the memory then.
