[SOLVED] How to reformat Toshiba EXT harddrive

I need help to reformat my 1TB Toshiba ext Harddrive from its initial PC format into a Mac format. I have tried going into the disk utility and erasing it by changing it to every single "Mac OSX (Journaled)" option, however, when I try erasing it, it says it cannot unmount.

The drive is probably in use, which is usually the cause of the problem you described.

Detach and reattach the drive and then attempt to format again.
