Few questions about Hybrid Drive vs HDD

Hello, I recently took apart an unused laptop to find that it used a 500gb Hybrid drive. I also bought an enclosure for it so i can connect it via USB to my desktop. My first question is: If I use this hybrid drive via USB for storing all my movies, songs and pictures, will I see a performance increase compared to my internal HDD or will it be about the same? What about external HDD vs External Hybrid drive for media storage? I have several 2.5 external HDDs but this is my only external hybrid drive so I want to know which is best to use?

My next question: What if I put all my games on the hybrid drive, would their be a performance increase compared to my internal HDD? I'm guessing since the Hybrid drive would be connected via USB it would be best to keep games on my internal HDD since it's internal and probably faster than USB? Thanks for any help and clarifications!

The only good comparison is between a hybrid and non-hybrid through the same interface.
An internal drive will be faster than an external through USB.

And for 'media storage', doubtful you'd see any difference between a hybrid or non-hybrid, either internal or external.

A hybrid speeds things up by caching the most used files in the SSD portion. It learns what files are most accessed, and runs those from the SSD space. Since you won't be playing the same movie or mp3 over and over, it won't really make a difference. But it's just a drive. Use it as needed.
