So i upgraded from an fx 6300 to fx 8350 after the 6300 started crashing. I installed the new cpu and when i start up, all the fans are going but nothing else on monitor. I tried taking out the cmos battery to reset it. I tried onboard video instead of the gpu. When i search for other people with this problem, its recommended that i update the bios. But the fx 6300 is under the same supported update as the fx 8350 for the ga78 lmt usb3(my motherboard) if im not mistaken. So i dont think i should even try that. Any help would be appreciated, im completely lost

Solution
I see it is supported with the F3 bios. Not sure why it is not working. Even if you got it working it would be a bit of a strain for that board. Maybe someone else can chime in with some insight. I believe most people run a 990 fx board for those higher power chips. Good luck!

Thanks for responding, after some research i think my motherboard is rev 5, not rev 4.3 but that just means it should have been supported without any updates, as the new rev 5 doesnt have any updates available. What do you mean by it being a strain for my motherboard? Could the motherboard really be the problem?

It is supported, very brave of them to give support to a 125W cpu with that power regulation, but its weird that all CPUs are supported since bios f3, even newer 83xxE CPUs, i'd update the bios to its latest version.

Exactly my point. Would be better off with a 990fx of some type. (gigabyte would be my choice) I think the power draw from the cpu my kill it out right or shorten it's lifespan. I am not try to offend, but you are trying to put a $160.00 chip on a $60.00 mainboard.
