help from windows 8 installation error "we couldn't verify the product key, please check your installation media"

I think to built a new gaming pc so I bought components....
My specifications are
Amd a8 6600k black edition 3.9 GHz overclock 4.1-4.2 GHz
Gigabyte GA-G1 sniper a88x motherboard bios version F8
Corsair Vengeance 4gb 1600 mhz
WD caviar green 1 TB hard drive Cooler master K281 mid tower cabinet
Zebronics 450watt Economy series SMPS Cooler master IC value V1 Thermal Grease
By doing setting to IDE from SATA of hard disk I installed Windows xp. NOW
I want to install windows 8

In the installation all is fine till the product key windows comes. I entered the product key and it says that "we couldn't verify the product key. Please check your installation media. " please help me...

Are you sure you don't have O and 0 mixed up when entering that product key? If it comes down to it, contact microsoft to get your key verified by them to make sure it actually works. You aren't using an 8.1 Key with Windows 8 are you? or vice versa.

I downloaded the image file from the internet. The disc I burn few months ago, get scratched. Because of this it does not installing. Then I burn a new disc and and installed it correctly. Now I have Windows 8.1 Pro.... Thanks to all of you....
