Hey,
So as the title says, is there a definite best CPU & Mobo combo on the market right now for gaming? Right now I have an i7 4930K (2011) CPU, I have a profile for 4.6Ghz and its resting on my Asus Rampage IV Extreme.
I purchased this bundle this time last year from Scan.co.uk and I have had nothing but problems with their overclock profile. After about a week of using it I got numerous BSOD's (0x124) and they replaced the chip with what they said was an "A grade replacement". I thought I would have gotten an "A grade" to begin with but apparently not. Even with the replacement it hasn't done any better and I have had to make do with the stock profile for the past 6 months or so.
Anyway, the reason I ask is that I really, really want rid of this mobo and CPU because of the problems and I want to start fresh. I've also experienced my first PSU die, which may have harmed the rest of my build. The recent AX1200i which was a replacement for my first PSU (same model) that was making an electrical buzzing noise. The latest PSU lasted a total of three days. I must have serious bad luck with Scan's products...
Overall, is there anything better I should have a look at? My budget is around £1400.
Cheers, and my apologies if I ramble on a bit, I've been stressing about this since the PSU died the other night.
Here's a list of my other components:
2 x EVGA GTX 780Ti SC
H100i (Going to be water cooling soon, have all the components here, including the 2011 waterblock)
16GB Corsair Vengeance
240 Corsair SSD
2TB HDD
