How can I make a Wifi signal into an Ethernet connection?

Hi,
I recently moved my PC and the signal has been a lot weaker ever since. I once heard about something that could take in a wifi signal and convert it so that you could connect an ethernet cable and plug that into the computer. Does this exist?
Thanks!

As Kanewolf said above, the answer is a wireless bridge device. I have linked to an example of such a device above.

They are typically used to use a wifi signal to a device that only has an Ethernet port, such as the older Blu-ray players. They will not boost the signal better than a good USB wifi adapter.

You have a few options:

- Run Ethernet cable to your PC directly.

- Run Ethernet cable closer to your PC and setup a 2nd router as an access point.

- Powerline networking

- MoCA if you have coax in the room with the PC

- A better wifi adapter for the PC

You could buy a "wireless bridge" which you could put an ethernet cable between it and your computer. That might allow you to move the bridge around and MAYBE get a better signal. But you might be wasting your money. You would do better to try powerline network adapters.

Wireless repeaters are designed to be placed in an area with an adequate wifi signal and rebroadcast the signal to devices even further away. So, the best placement for these is somewhere midway between the router and your PC.

Some repeaters have an Ethernet port and can act as a bridge, but placing it near your PC is defeating its purpose since your PC is in an area with a weak wifi signal.

If you wanted to make use of wifi on your PC instead of the Ethernet cable connection, then a repeater would work. Be aware that repeaters cut the wireless throughput by half. That would matter if you use bandwidth intensive or sensitive services (e.g. streaming, gaming, VoIP).
