I recently bought a Lenovo Y40 laptop and I'm trying to get it to work with an external monitor. The problem is that I can't see the full screen, most of the menu bar at the bottom isn't visible and neither is the top of chrome.
The Lenovo Y40 Laptop runs on Windows 8.1 and has a 14 inch screen, while the external monitor is a Viewsonic VX2453 which has a 24 inch screen. I have both screens at the maximum resolution of 1920*1080. They are connected via a HDMI cable.
One thing I've noticed is that there are no Windows 8 drivers for the VX2453, only up to Windows 7, because it is discontinued. I don't know if this could be the cause of the problem.
