I am trying to decide between a few graphics cards. But I am not sure how I can connect gaphics card to PSU.

Asus GTX760 DirectCU 2 OC 2gb: needs one 8 pins power connector according to site below:
http://

MSI GTX760 Twin Frozr Gaming OC GDDR5 2GB : 1x 6pins + 1x 8pins according to site below:
http://

Zotac GTX760 AMP! Edition GDDR5 2GB 256Bit: 2 x 6 pins connectors according to site below:
http://

My PSU is a Coolermaster RP-600-PCAP, 600Watt psu.It has 2 x 6 pins PCI-e connectors. The most suitable solution seems like buying Zotac one.But I like MSI and Asus companies more and I would prefer to buy one of them. But can I connect MSI or Asus one to my PSU?(without changing the psu)If it is possible, how?

My other question is, I've read that Asus one can use power up to 225Watts, MSI one can use 170Watts(it's not specified if it's maximum or not), Zotac one's maximum power consumption is 185Watts, Can my psu run these graphics cards?

Psu:Coolermaster Rp-600-PCAP
Mainboard:Gigabyte X38-DQ6
2 gb RAM
1 Hitachi Deskstar 1 TB, 1 Htachi Deskstar 500gb
Two dvd-writers(one of them is almost dead)
Current graphics card:Ati Radeon HD3870
Intel Core 2 Quad 4 core 2.4 ghz

Solution
Your 600w psu has two 12v1/2 outputs, supposedly capable of 18a each.
The combined total is rarely the sum or 36a.
Your psu is an old one with most of the wattage on the 3.3. and 5v outputs, not on the 12v outputs where modern cpu's and graphics cars need them. For comparison a 600w Seasonic psu can deliver 46a.
I would not use that psu period.
If it fails under load, it will not have the protective circuitry to keep from destroying all it is attached to.
If you want to try, the two 6 pin leads provided can be combined into the requisite 8 pin lead needed for the graphics card. Needing a 8 pin connector is unusual, so such cards often come with a adapter in the box.
I think the asus does.
Coolermaster psu's quality can be iffy.
If your psu could support more than 2 6 pin connectors, it would have them.
A 8 pin connector can deliver 150w, a 6 pin can deliver 75 w as can the pcie slot.
Assuming the psu can deliver it's advertised power, you could run either the 2 x 6 pin or the 8 pin card, but not the 6 + 8 pin card; I would probably exclude the msi card.

Thanks for your answers.

To use Asus one,should I use a 1x 6 pin to 8 pin adapter or 2 x 6 to 8 pin adapter?Can 1x 6 to 8 pin adapter do the job,can it provide the power needed ?

Currently I have a Radeon 3870 graphics card.If I just buy a GTX760 graphics card(without buying a new psu), do I have to change my 650Watts ups(uninterruptable power supply)?
Or in addition to a graphics card,if I decide to buy a new psu too(for example,a 750watts with suitable PCI-e pins) ,then should I change my uniterruptable power supply too?

Currently a standalone dvd recorder,a satellite receiver,my Pc's monitor and my Pc is connected to this ups.

If I buy a 750w psu in addition to one of the graphics cards I mentioned,do I have to change my ups?

Hey,

I just saw you posted and I decided to look up that PSU you have, it seems to be a decent unit according to newegg reviews, people dont seem to have any problems with it, anyways what geofelt said, it Prob won't have the circutry to not blow the rest of your computer, to be honest you will probally be fine, but it may not be fine. You can find a corsair psu really cheap like the CX600 it's not fancy but it will do the job... If your really tight on cash run off of what you have there but I would just pick up a psu. Yeah. It's unfortunate with that "pick the answer button" I've had threads where multiple people put in info and as a whole the problem was fixed. There should be a 50-50 type of thing or 33-33-33 type thing... Another thing for the forum. :p Don't worry I won't be offended.

Have a great day!
