Older call of duty PC community

Is there a large call of duty fanbase for older games like Black Ops and MW3 on the PC still? Christmas this year I'm hoping Steam will put a few CoDs on a sale and I'll probably buy Black Ops 1 or 2 and MW3 and Im wondering if there's still a lot of players that play it so I'm not only limited to a few servers here and there.

People still play BOII, as far as the others, I dont know (I used to play them all). I still play BOII too, fun game. By the way, bugs aside, Advanced Warfare is pretty cool.

I was thinking of getting BOII, hopefully it'll be on the Xmas sale too because it's still $59.99 which is kinda ridiculous for a game that's been out for a couple years lol

BOII and maybe MW3 are your best bets for "older" games. I can confirm BOII still has a decent community, and although I don't know about MW3, I think it's something slightly behind that.

If things keep heading towards their current direction, although, I see Advanced Warfare taking the lead soon enough.
Except unoptimized drivers and memory leaks, the game's bugs and issues can be fairly overlooked without too much effort (they're noticeable, but not game breaking), and the game runs well enough on most systems, provided you "don't bite more than you can chew" in terms of game settings compared to your hardware. It just lacks dedicated servers, for which we already received a confirmation that they're going to come (albeit with an unknown ETA)

Getting back on topic, if I recall correctly, there was a sale already some time ago; I think it was a Steam publisher-based sale aiming at Activision, Ghosts was 10-15$ cheaper, BO2 and MW3 were at half price and older episodes were at a price between 30$ and 10$. I'm not so sure we'll see another sale, but should it happen I don't see why not biting :3
