Hi, I had to reformat my c drive and start from scratch. I use Win 7 64bit. After Windows installed, I installed the following 3 drivers from the motherboard cd; Realtek 8111/8168 lan driver, AMD chipset AHCI driver and Via USB 3.0 driver only. Then go into devices and printers tab on start menu- at the top you will see ''Devices (10)' 10 being the number of devices connected, it could be more or less depending on your hardware. Right click on the first icon, which should be your PC icon. Halfway down the menu will be 'Device installation settings' click this tab. A pop up window will give you the option to choose what to do.regarding realistic icons and driver software from Windows update. Choose never install driver software from windows update. This will stop the usb 3 from automatically updating and screwing up. I had a year of frustration with no usb 3 working, and by a process of elimination realised this is what was causing the problem. It is now 6 months since I did this and all usb 3 are working fine, including the internal mobo header. Unfortunately there is no way to roll back the driver once windows has updated, and a reformat with new Windows installation is the only way to get this working.
After this you can use windows update as normal - selecting what you want to install. Good Luck
