I currently have an Lcd scree with 1680x1050 resolution
I have a gtx 970, so is the upgrade worth it? Moving to the 1920x1080 will seem like a huge difference? I did the maths and noticed that im currently at 85% of full Hd. Will getting the rest 15% be worth it?

I don't know if you have the room but multiple monitors work well. The difference in size you are talking about won't make that much difference between 1080p and 1050. If you add a 1080p with your current monitor, applications you like to keep open but don't need higher resolution, can be viewed in your smaller monitor.

You'll notice a difference but it's very much personal preference as to whether that difference is worth the increase in price.

If I were you i'd skip 1080p and wait for 1440p to decrease in price a bit. You've gone for a fair while of 1080p's life without it anyway.

That's why I said you should wait for 1440p to decrease in price!

They will do eventually, just like 1080p did after it initially released.

My point was that there's little purpose in buying 1080p towards the end of the life of 1080p and the start of higher resolutions and you should wait for them since you've gone without 1080p already.

I dont play Fps games on multiplayer so input lag doesnt matter, I care about the image quality? is 1080p so much better than the 1680x1050?

I want to keep my GTx 970 for atleast three years, after a year a Gtx 970 wont be able to handle games at 1440p
