At the store the messed up the extra ram i was adding and instead of 1600 they used 1333 so i had half and half until i noticed then they changed it(i am not sure if they did, but the receipt was correct this time) but now i noticed that they run at DRAM 534 and someone told me that this means that they are at 1300hz. Is it true?

So if its true here is my problem, i cant take it back and thell them to change it(a lot of time has passed), so how hard is it if try to change it myself. I dont want to mess anything, also is the difference between 1600-1333 such a big deal(12gb)? Thanks

Really need to know the model of DRAM and what mobo/CPU, it's possible they gave you 1333 or even 1600 but never set it up and it's running at the mobos default (looks like it anyway). The 534 equates to 1066 (not 1300) as this is DDR (DOUBLE data rate) so you take the true freq (534) x 2 = effective, here it would be 1066

Ok i checked it. All of them are 2gb ram at 1600, so they didnt scam me. Now DRAM frequency of 534 Mhz also i got 6x2gb. So what do you suggest? should i try and change it my self?

Give it a try, if they are 1600 then if on a Intel based rig, go into BIOS and enable XMP select profile 1 and give them a try, if AMD based, in BIOS look for XMP, DOCP, EOCP, or AMP - enable that and select freq as 1600 - as mentioned before would help to know the actual model numbers of your DRAM as well as your mobo and CPU, otherwise my hands are tied in helping

CPU : i7 960 3.2ghz
MOBO: P6T7 supercomputer (LGA1366)
RAM : 3x CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 and 3x CM3X2G1600C8

Thats what makes me afraid before that are 2 different rams, if there is going to be a problem. Damn its so frustrating to be ignorant about these stuff :/

Put the sticks in the same colored slots, make sure you have the latest BIOS, go into BIOS, enable XMP and give it a shot...if no joy go back to BIOS and do same (enable XMP select profile 1) and raise DRAM Voltage + 0.075 initially and try. Still no joy, let me know and we'll try a MC voltage change

I am a bit confused. Anyway i am gonna watch some video just to get an idea of what i need to do. Also i believe that there are on the same color slots, because i was using tripple channel until i added the 3 new ones. Well i was planning to change my graphics card in 2 weeks i will tell them to change it . If they dont, i will ask for your help. I will keep your name and in case this happens or if i decide to do it myself. Thanks, it was helpful and educating :D
