I'm looking into building a gaming computer with a budget of around 500$. I've already asked about the build I might use, but I would like to see how your suggestions compare to it :bounce: Please explain why you have chosen each part.

I would also like it to be able to run these games on medium or high settings:
World of Warcraft
Team Fortress 2
Star Wars: The Old Republic
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
World of Tanks
Dungeons and Dragons Online
Dota 2
Planetside 2

I don't need a monitor or keyboard.

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($75.99 @ Newegg) good ram. simple as that.
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($53.64 @ Amazon) generic HDD. Works good.
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($179.99 @ NCIX US) The best GPU of the 2 other builds up there.

note the fans would be a bit extra

you could reduce the budget by opting for a 500gb harddrive and maybe a weaker GPU and 4 gb ram

the fx 6300 and 750 ti combo donot bottleneck each other as well as perform decently

hope this helps!!

I probably should have mentioned this earlier, but I'm not really looking to upgrade it.

I agree with you Intel Pentium G3258(Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition) is better than FX 6300.
FX 6300 very old technology with week 6-cores compared to newer intel pentium with strong 2-cores.
But in multi threaded applications or games FX 6300 wins over Intel Pentium G3258(Intel Pentium Anniversary Edition).

i agree sir but the 760 is a bitt more powerful than the 270

and i generally dont recommend amd because of the really bad optimization of their hardware by devs

I see what you're saying, but the 760 is more expensive than the 270 and I'm already 100$ over my preferred budget. If I can get my budget raised a little more, I might get the 760.
