Hello everyone.
Going straight to the point. I have a hd-pntu3 and my problem is EXACTLY like this guy
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2019695/port-buffalo-ministation-usb-broken.html
broken usb port.
I have taken the liberty to crack it open and am thinking of buying a replacement HDD enclosure. Thing is, I have a similar 2.5" SATA seagate hdd which is long dead.
I'm considering cracking open that one and using its usb/connector/logic port/converter (please help me with the name) to power up my hd-pntu3 instead. I don't mind having a naked hdd because it never leaves the house anyways
My question is, before I crack the coffin, are there any harms/side effects from doing it this way seeing as it's a Seagate product vs Buffalo product because I found out that some hardware manufacturers have their own specific usb/connector/logic port/converter. Will I save money or am I better off with a generic 2.5" SATA hdd enclosure?
Thank you in advance.
