I'm about to build my first PC, which will be used for 3D animation, some video editing, but probably not much gaming (maybe some).

I have a budget of around £1000, but I'm willing to spend a little extra to get the components I need. Hence the following speculative list exceeding the budget.

I'd rather get value for my money, so if there's anything I'm overspending on, please let me know! Similarly, if there's something that I could (justifiably) spend more on to improve the PC, I'd like to know.

I also require a monitor.

I'll be buying the components in about 5 weeks, so I still have time to deliberate a bit more.
