SLI 2 different graphics cards?

I would like to know if i am able to SLI 2 different graphics cards but the same company/brand
For example: I have the MSI Radeon R9 270X and I would like to buy an additional graphics card: the MSI Radeon R9 290X

That compatibility chart of yours, I would say partly belongs in the trash since it doesn't even give you the real chart.
R9 270/X = Radeon 7850/7870. Both uses the same GPU Pitcarn. AMD changed the name to Curacao in R9 because of improved efficiency, but otherwise its the same card.

R9 280/X = Radeon 7950/7970. Same GPU.

R9 290 is the only true card that is newer architecture and brand new chip.

And no you can only crossfire the same GPU with another GPU that has the same...
