Installed Windows 8.1 from Hard Drive, requires install drive to be plugged in to launch?

Basically I put the extracted the iso on to a little 40gb drive and installed windows on to my 2tb. I play around with it for a bit and install all my drivers etc then I turn of pc and decide its time to unplug the windows installation drive and when i try to boot it says I need to insert a bootable disk etc.

Why?

Burn it to a DVD. Or use something like rufus http://rufus.akeo.ie/

I don't have a DVD around right now, but I don't really see what the issue would be. It successfully installed.

Well its not going is it thats the issue. Use Rufus then if you've got a flash drive
