im building a new rig, $2000 budget so far i have everything set and im thinking of putting a FX-8350 overclocked 2 R9 290X in there but im wondering if there are any better graphics card out there

Solution
you can run two 970s no problem, but its generally not advisable to sli/crossfire non flagship gpus.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING 7 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($154.99 @ Newegg)

Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($124.99 @ Amazon)...
the best single gpu graphics card is the classified gtx980. you do not want an fx8350, it is a budget multithread cpu, not a gaming cpu. get a 4790k

though i suggest you DO NOT buy the classified 980, or even any 980. just get a single msi gaming 970 right now....

... then when gm210 comes out sell the 970 and and go with a single flagship card.

those sound good, so you think 2 970s will be better than 2 290s?

gtx970 is much better all around, quieter and cooler running, lower power consumption, much higher overclocking headroom, and a bit faster out the box. though you can get r9-290s for about $250 on a good deal, amd crossfire never has been as reliable as sli with nvidia.
