forgotten password>reinstall windows7pro>install ethernet controller>install windows 7 updates>black screens at windows loading files animation
I went to sleep once I got the win7 updates installing and woke up to a black screen.

I tried to fit it all in the title. : ) Here is what I've tried:
-F8 to safe mode
-F8 to lower resolution in case there was a GPU driver installed that I didn't see while I was sleeping.
-Boot sequence to boot from the sp1 that I used to install.
-I've tried a few other stupid things like leaving it off for an hour before trying these things again.

Solution
so windows cant start, get pass by the welcome screen after the windows is loading. Try using your windows DVD and hit repair start up. see what happens.
or you can system restore to an early day F8 when pc is powering on

Thanks in advance. Love that you all are here and I hope to one day be here for others!
After reading my own post I realized I may sound like I stole it. Haha. It is a friends who thought there was something wrong with it. Which there was, aside from the forgotten password. Their last successful log in was in 2012. Then the next time they tried it would stay loading at the welcome screen (after typing in correct password). When I tried the other passwords they thought it might be it would go to the welcome loading screen for a few minutes then come back as incorrect. Which I found out that even all my variations of the owners passwords were indeed wrong entirely. She ended up remembering the actual password after I wiped it. Ugh. Lol I could have learned the real problem, if it was deeper than this.

*All options including all the safe modes and everything else black screen at the same point of the loading bar.
*The loading bar I'm speaking of is the little one with the green bars. Not the Welcome circle or the black and white one at the bottom.
