Does intel core2 duo supporrt 1 tb internal hard disk

Exactly how does the sysem shut down? Soon as you try to power it up? After you use it for a bit, when it tries to get to Windows? Does it reboot or shutdown? Any blue screen errors?

I'm kind of lost as well, the thread title asks about cpu supporting a 1tb hard drive but the post mentions a shut down issue. Yes, a core 2 duo will run fine with a 1tb hard drive. That's what I'm using right now, an e8400 with a 1tb hdd. I don't think the size of the hard drive is really an issue due to the processor, it would more or less be whether or not the bios (mobo) supports it and the operating system. Both bios and o/s support for 1tb drives has been around for quite awhile now. It sounds like a different kind of issue. Either a motherboard that won't post, corrupt bios, bad ram stick or even a corrupt bios. Not enough information to try and guess which.
