Hi there, I was wondering, I currently have an i5 2500k 1155 socket CPU and I have a P8h61 Asus motherboard. However, one of my RAM sticks is failing and my current motherboard only supports 1333Mhz and not to mention it has no USB 3.0. Rather than buying new 1333Mhz RAM I was thinking about buying a new motherboard that will support my CPU and have USB 3.0 and able to support better RAM '1600Mhz'.
I have been looking at low cost motherboard but I am unsure on what would be best at a low-mid price range as my knowledge on this isn't too good.

Any chance if anyone has time to give me some advise?

Many thanks in advance.

My Spec:
CPU: i5 2500k 3.3Ghz
Mobo: Asus P8H61
RAM: 8GB DDR 3 1333Mhz (x2 4GB) "1 is failing I believe"
GPU: Zotac Nvidia 780Ti OC 3GB
PSU: 850W
Airflow: x6 Corsair Air Series AF 140mm
OS: Windows 7

Okay, so something basic will be enough.
I would go with the ASUS P8Z77-V LX, it's a good board, supports USB3.0 and 1600Mhz+ memory clocks. For about £55.

This board will even let you overclock your CPU a bit. Plus it's one of the few new LGA 1155 motherboards available.

What's your budget mate?
Also, you can get a Z77 board and be able to overclock that CPU. Like the AsRock Z77 Extreme4.
But it depends on how much you're willing to spend and also the fact that there aren't allot of LGA1155 motherboards available anymore.

Thank you for the response, possibly looking at a max of £100, maybe even less but I don't know if its possible. I was just wanting something for about a year and then I'll upgrade the motherboard again when I can afford a new CPU. I've been looking at some ASUS boards, as in the models above my current one that support 1155 and 1600Mhz DDR3.

Thank you, both for responding. i'll order that one later. I have no clue about overclocking, my friends said to do it in the BIOS after I told them I used the ASUS utility, it overclocked from 3.3 > 3.8 however, I was told the utility can be unreliable on the voltages it puts out.

EDIT: I can manage all of my games at the moment on Max graphics with no trouble. - BF4 = 100+ FPS etc.
Maybe I'm just putting off overclocking :)

What do you mean that one RAM stick is failing? o_O

Yes, that was my first conclusion but I didnt want to waste money on buying 'Old 1333Mhz' RAM.

Turns out its NOT my RAM that's faulty. My Pc keeps locking up and I cannot find the cause. I know this is related to a different topic now so I should post elsewhere.

Sorry for any time wasted.
