Display driver has failed and recovered followed by BSOD. Runs on Safe Mode

While playing Far Cry 4 or WoW, my screen would suddenly turn black for a couple seconds and come back with the message "Display driver has failed and recovered." This happened every hour or so only while playing Far Cry 4. Suddenly the whole thing froze so I had to restart. Now, right after log in, the screen goes black around 3 times in the span of 20 seconds before going into BSOD. Please help!

I had a similar problem without the bsod. Kept getting display driver has stopped and recovered about every 10 min when the screensaver would come on. Updating driver did not help so after googling I went to microsoft support and downloaded the fix it for me program on there and I havent had a problem since. It Increases the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) processing time by adjusting the Timeout Detection and Recovery registry value. It might help you. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2665946

The thing with the microsoft-fix-it is it doesn't work in safe mode.
