Hi everyone, im planning on building a cheap gaming rig and i have a question as to whether there is a difference between the two motherboards in the title. As my knowledge only goes far enough to actually build the rig i would appreciate any information you could give me. Thanks in advance

Solution
If you will get the FX8 series CPU, then I recommend to get the 970 chipset motherboard at least. If you use those for the fx6 series cpu or lower, both are fine. And ASUS M5A78L-M lx plus does not have the usb3.0, and can support up to 125W TDP cpu, but don't use it for the fx8 series cpu because it has only 3+1 power phase count (VRMs). In other hand the Asus M5A78L_M ( you maybe means the Asus M5A78L_M usb3) has usb3.0 and can support up to 140W TDP cpu, with 4+1 power phase count( VRMs).
