Is 4GB of RAM for a tablet good enough for "future-proofing"?

Hello,

I have an SP3 i5 w/4GB. I am wondering if it is worth the extra money to upgrade to the 8GB version to sort of "futureproof" the tablet. I know that it is considered a convertible, but I am using it strictly as an entertainment consumption tablet. I don't plan on doing anything productive with it. If I can run Photoshop, great, I would consider it a bonus. It is not a priority, whatsoever.

So, I am wondering if the 4GB will get me by for the next few years.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Solution
I don't think simple use like media playback, web browsing, office documents are going to be any more demanding than they already are.

With proper care it will last a long time before it meets its end.

Thank you for the response.

So, for what I need it for, I can expect a few years out of it. Is it safe to say that the unit may give out before I would need more RAM for my uses?

Great! That is what I like to hear. I am going to keep the i5/4GB/128GB, then.

Thanks!
