I'm building a gaming PC and want to figure out what CPU I will purchase. Now I already know what my priorities are and just need to pick one. But while I'm here I would also like to know what specific statistics of the CPU do what, and what will be better for what I'm doing.

The games I will be running are mostly but not limited to: League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, DayZ,
Assassin's Creed Unity, And EvE Online. Just thought I would put those in there so you guys have some more information and such.

So I do understand that older games were designed to be use 1 core of the processor (single-threaded), and that newer games that are a little more taxing are using more then 1 core (multi-threaded), correct? And that your clock speed is divided by the number of cores you have.

So I guess i just need to know A: The best clock speed for my situation and B: The number of Cores. But more information would be great!

Also don't worry about the price I'm a but power hungry when it comes to computers. :)

Cpu do not really make much of a difference in some titles. Having a powerful processor like that will make you feel confident in whatever you do. Gaming, Rendering, or whatever. Just know that you can run any games that comes out for the next 3 to 4 years.

get a 4790k since you play CSGO. You will be satisfy with the amount of frames you get. I own a 4770k oc to 4.4ghz I get 300 to 500 fps in the game. :) and of course you get hyperthread so if you ever want to stream or render videos and what not, it will come useful to you.

It's usually best to list your budget, and what parts you need(if you have any already) and people can give complete build suggestions.

If you say you have no budget, people are going to provide you with $2000-5000 builds haha
