I am debating between the MSI Z97 GAMING-5 motherboard and the ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO. I want to know what the real difference it between these two. Why would i opt to pay more for the asus maximus? Or if there is aother good quality board for less than 200 i am open for recommendations.

the asus has 2 more sata ports..... the rest is difference in lan and audio chips. if you have a preference in which is "better" then there's your answer. personally i don't see the extra $50 justified in the asus. I have the gaming 5 and it has so many features i'm still figuring them out. looks good, solid board with all kinds of overclocking extras and more slots than i hope to use. no issues installing hyper 212 evo and no issues working with the bios and added utilities.
