Hey there

I recently bought a Seagate 2TB SSHD / Hybrid Drive and noticed immediately upon playing
any game that it makes a rather awkward buzzing noise. The weird thing is this noise doesn't
happen when writing to the disk just normally, only when playing a game. Setting my pagefile
to my old drive I thought would remedy the issue (not a true solution of course) but well it didn't.

Having no pagefile at all also didn't fix the issue however I noticed in Resource Manager that
a pagefile was still being written to. Anyway to truly turn it off so I can confirm if that's the problem?

Thanks

I hear alot of bad things from consumer grade seagate drives in general. I don't think the buzzing noise is bad for the SSHD just it can be really annoying. If you don't like it you may be able to trade it in for another HDD.

Also my SSD also makes a noise like that when writing in high speeds, so possibly that's just a noise of the SD chips in it. I wouldn't be worried about it though just change it if it's annoying.

-good luck

Turns out the noise was infact a coil whine from my near-by graphics card. Just a misleading coincidence it started happening
right after plugging in my new SSHD. Would explain why it only happens when I open a game up. Will RMA the card tomorrow.

Sorry for the waste of a thread >.<
