I have a old dell dimension E520 that im fixing up for my little brother and im wondering if a Q6700 or Q6600 cpu would best fit his uses. he uses it for school and mild gaming IE league of legends and older games. any and all feedback is appreciated thanks

The 6700 will have a higher max temp and will use less power. Those are the two main differences. I am not sure if LoL is running multi-threaded rendering for its games, if it does you will be better off with the 6700.
If price is your concern, the 6600 are about 30-50 USD less than the 6700

thanks for the response and i'm not sure about LoL being multi-threaded or not but i think not on of the other games he runs a lot is BF2: BC. since i know that is multi-threaded ill get the 6700. i can get it for about $40 it will be a nice boost from the Pentium D 820 currently in it.
