Im in the process of choosing the components of my pc, but the only thing i cant really choose is the mobo, i want something reliable, and not so expensive because ill use the pc mainly for gaming us only, im thinking of a i5 4690k or locked, i want to see the choices i have, and a gtx 970.

Solution
If you go the plain jane non-K could drop to a H97 - though I think I'd suggest sticking with the Z97, then you have an upgrade path to Broadwell when they are released
There are quite a few mobos in the $100 - $150 range that are excellent for your choice of CPU. The higher priced mobos will give you a big advantage in OC'ing the hardware - if you do not plan to overclock the price range above is a good start. If you want to overclock the system - I would suggest going with a board that is better for OC'ing.....

i would like to have a good motherboard below 150 bucks budget, i also dont want to buy a high end mobo because it probably has a lot of features i dont even now or wont use if i do, and are you talking about the rocks fatality z97 killer? and i would like it to be a reliable mobo, because ive read lots of doa or 1 year failures

thanks for the help, also one last question, if i chose the locked i5 4690, what would be a good mobo? if im just overclocking the video card near the future, would it affect which mobo i choose?
