So I recently "finished" my build. I say "finished" because I have first installed a celeron 1820 to update my msi z87 pc mate to the latest bios version, and I have not yet installed my gpu. So I completed the building of the pc, then hooked it up to a monitor to test everything. Upon pressing the power button, the pc starts up for a little less than a second (I can tell because my ram lights up, cpu cooler fan spins for about one rotation, and all or most case fans get about one rotation) but then the computer turns right back off. I am completely confused as to what causes this problem. I checked to make sure that everything is plugged in tight and correctly, and that everything that needs to be installed is. Also I am not aware of any hardware problems that would allow the computer to turn on for about a second before turning back off.

The complete parts list is:

What do you mean by "it doesn't have a speaker"? I have all the audio pins plugged in. And yes, everything is in properly. Also I did inspect both processor and motherboard before starting the build and I didn't see anything wrong with either.

No it doesn't have a speaker. I have found a potential solution to the problem: the power on plug-in for the case may be inserted wrong (+ where - should be) because the positive and negative sides aren't marked. I will try switching the power button plug-in tomorrow afternoon and update with the results.

So I checked to make sure everything was plugged in correctly and it was. I am still having the same problem and I can confirm that everything is coming on for about half a second. I even watched an msi video on where everything goes but I have everything correct.
