I am looking to build a new desktop PC and I am trying to figure out storage options.

I am planing to use the Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H motherboard and I would like to use a 256GB M.2 (PCIe not SATA) SSD for OS (Windows 7) and select games. Also an additional HDD for high capacity storage (undecided on model).

I would love to be able to take advantage of the speed and compactness of an M.2 SSD while still using the SATA 6Gb/s ports. However, the manufacturer website for the motherboard seems to state that if you use an M.2 SSD, that all SATA and SATA Express ports will become unavailable.

Is this true, and does it mean that I can only use M.2 and SATA one at a time?

If it is true, will I have to just go with one or the other (M.2 or SATA), or is there a different motherboard out there that can use M.2 and SATA simultaneously?

Thank you in advance for your help.

(M.2, SATA Express, and SATA3 4/5 connectors can only be used one at a time. The SATA3 4/5 connectors will become unavailable when an M.2 SSD is installed.)
If you use M.2 you loose SATA Port 4/5, all other can be used nevertheless.
