hi, i have the i7 4790k on an asus maximus vii hero motherboard
with the cooler: corsair hydro h60
when i'm just on facebook and nothing else my temperatures of my cpu are +- 38 - 40 °c
is that an okay temperature? thx in advance.

Solution
Yes it is normal.
However, for safety's sake, try and check the contact point between the cooler plate and the processor.
Hope this helped you.

it is a safe temperature. but to tell if it is normal , please tell us your ambient

and dont worry if it is 40 C ,my ambient here is around 35 and my pc always is above 40

and also try what AlexHYS says just in case

hope this helps!

Like mentioned, it really depends on the ambient room temp, and your cooler. In comparison, I have a h110 in a pull configuration on my 4790k and it idles around 32-34c(ever changing) across the cores with a slight non-voltage adjusted overclock. That's a much larger cooler than the h60. If you're overclocked can also be a factor in temperature. Also, where are you getting the temp from? In bios mine shows a lot higher temp than MSI Afterburner, CPUID, or any other monitoring software I've used.
