hi, i have a SAMSUNG 21.5'' LCD monitor with [VGA & DVI-D] port...........where my gpu is GTX 770 which have [DVI & HDMI].........now i can buy the DVI-D cable for display or i can go for---- HDMI (from GPU) to HDMI-DVI (monitor).....my question is! is that necessary and will i get similar performance as norman HDMI or i should go for the DVI-D only.......btw, i heard about sound issues on DVI....what is that?????

Solution
DVI normally only carries video. If your monitor only has DVI-D and VGA, it doesn't accept an audio signal anyway. HDMI and DVI should be identical as they are both digital video signals. You would probably be better off with just a DVI-D to DVI-D cable. That way, your HDMI output on your graphics card is still available.
