Hello everybody,

I'm having a blue screen problem but I need my laptop to work for a presentation in a couple of days. So I really hope you can help me with that

I've a Lenovo X220, i7-2640 M CPU @ 2.80GHz, 6.00 GB RAM, 64-bit, running Win 7 Professional.

The project where the blue screen crash occurs is: I've a sound spectrograph program and capturing a video feed from an ultrasound machine (through a USB 2.0 video grabber and debut software) and running both at the same time. But unfortunately my computer doesn't like that and crashes. I would really appreciate your help!!!!!!!!!!

I've to say that I've had a lot of problems in the past months. I've tried fixing some of them running Malwarebytes etc. But every time Windows updated it seemed like nothing is working anymore and even more problems came up (like usb are not working).

My antivirus is Kaspersky and yes, the setup did work in the past. I've 8 HDD and the C Drive has 39GB free.

Sounds like windows update has botched some system files then.

Going to have to do a system repair to restore damaged OS files.

Do you by chance have backups of the system that you can just restore to a couple months ago before the problem?
If not then hopefully this is a valuable lesson. Home users should minimum backup files, business users should have a full backup that can be restored in less then an hour.

I hear you loud and clear boosted1g, trust me. Unfortunately, I don't have a backup to the time before the problem occurred.

I'll try the suggestion from 06yfz450ridr and see, if that helps.
