I would like an intel cpu and a motherboard what will work well with that. Also, I may do some overclocking in the future, but not loads!

Plus, will the motherboard need a bios update?

You dont need any BIOS update for overclocking any Z97 board comes with latest BIOS for a haswel refresh processor for OC you will need an AF cooler as you have said you will go for mild OC the hyper 212 evo will be very efficient for that i have crossed your budget by including the cooler hope its still within your reach.
