Headset/Headphones and mic, Suggestions?

Will be used for gaming and music, 300 dollar budget could go a bit more though if needed.
I've also read that for headphones with higher ohm a amp or sound card may be needed for maximum sound quality. Thanks in advance.

The best option for me personally was not to buy a all in one gaming headset as they are usually quite bad,unless you get a Astro A50 for example which are quite ,but I would go for a pair of Audio Technica ATH M50's and then get a Zalman attachable microphone,works great and sounds great. and amps arent necessary and sound cards arent either unless you truly are a audiophile,
