Windows not booting up and computer making clicking sounds (with random BSODs thrown in for good measure)

For the past few days, my pretty new PC (barely two months old) has started to play up pretty badly. Windows fails to boot up, and when I insert my Windows CD to repair startup, it just restarts the process again and again without booting properly. All this happens while the computer makes all kinds of clicking sounds. I've also got a problem with random BSODs occurring at least once a day over this time. I think the error message had something to do with ntoskrnl.exe or something.

I've read elsewhere on these forums that it could be the hard drive going bust, and I was just looking for a bit more advice before I fork out some more money on a replacement hard drive. Apologies if I haven't given enough info, I'll try to provide any further info if needed. Right now it is difficult as the PC is currently in its pants-pooping phase.
