Computer keeps freezing, seemingly random; since purchasing

I'm a complete noob on computers, likely won't understand any tech related comments but here we go ^_^:

[Background]
I chose the parts on pcspecialist.com; my first time picking the parts for a computer. It is supposed to be a mid-range budget gaming PC. Ever since I got it, and for a year now, it randomly freezes.

[Details of freezing]
The screen/current image freezes, sound cuts, mouse is frozen, etc etc. I have to hold down the power-button to restart. This is very random and unpredictable. It can happen while watching a movie/stream; while gaming; while on Wordpad. It can happen after under an hour of having the computer on, but usually freezes after a longer session. It happens roughly every day; but has had periods of not freezing for weeks. At most, it has frozen 3 times in one day.

[Specs] not sure what is relevant to post, please forgive me here x_x. I'll just post everything I can find in the control panel/device manager!):

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) ie-3240 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40GHz
Installed memory: 8.00GB
System type: 64-bit operating system
Disk drives: ST500DM002-1BD142 ATA device
Display adapters: AMD Radeon HD 7700 Series
Monitors: Generic PnP monitor
Network adapters: Realtek PCIe GBE

Not sure how to find my power supply/fans etc. The site made sure that the power is right etc and then they built it. I have 2 fans and a very ventilated shell (I think >_>)

Sorry about being so noob, but this is getting really frustating now >< It's ruining many experiences and opportunities since I have to account for random crashing then a ~5minute reboot+programme restarts etc

If any information is needed feel free to ask and I'll try google and supply it! :3

PS: I tried to search the forums for other answers... but not sure I've saw the same issue. I find it quite odd that I've had this problem ever since purchase.

I would be ever so grateful if someone were able to help me :)

Solution
in the bios are you set so the system wont restart on power lost so you will have time to read blue screen error code on the monitor and did you made any change lately in the system like drive or hardware .

temp and voltages are good but i only see the cpu fan speed report do you have onboard video so you could remove gpu for test to see if it freeze i would also test the hdd with the maker tool and memtest ram one at the time to see if they pass test .

Go to Control panel->Administrative Tools->Event viewer. In the overview, you will see a summary of administrative events, under this you will see some options like critical, error with a Plus button next to it. If you click the plus button you can see what program is causing trouble, you just have to remember the time stamp when your computer froze. Once you figure out what program was causing the freeze, you can then Google or ask here how to fix it.

Not sure about removing things... I'm a complete nooby x_x Also worth noting - it's hard to test changes like that - since crashes aren't predictable.

Thanks again guys for posting your advice.

And awesome. This looks promising in tracking down what is going wrong.

Here is a screeny of the critical and error section.

From a glance, it appears that Kernel-power lines up best with the crash/freezes - around 3 in the past 7 days

Does that just mean a forced shutdown (holding down the power button after a crash? Or would this be what is causing the crash itself? Or is my interpretation entirely off?

Upon right clicking and viewing more information about this error, the general tab says:

''The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.''

I'll be sure to check back here when the next freeze undoubtedly happens; to confirm timestamp/corresponding programme/error

Right clicking event id 2 + view all instances of this text -> general tab:

''Session "SkyDriveSessionName" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000022''

edit: note; I don't know why said error is mentioning skydrive. But worth pointing out, the crashes happened long before ever setting up skydrive/onedrive on this computer

*sigh I was hoping it somehow fixed. Not had it crash in a few weeks. Now crash again like usual. It's so random. Sometimes every day for weeks and weeks... then... not.

@the post above me... mobo? Motherboard? Erm can I check on the back of the computer case for that? There is a dvi and hdmi slot but with black caps covering them.

Connect my monitor to one of those? Might be a silly question, but how? Just take the cable from the current place it's plugged and slot into one of those?

I checked the event viewer and it is indeed the Kernal-power critical error.

''The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.''

But again this might be because of having to manually hold down the power button after the actual crash. I can't see any errors immediately before the kernal-power one

90 minutes later and... freeze. Forced to manually restart. Again, this is so random. After weeks of no problem. And now it could be all the time, or back to no problems again. It doesn't seem related to what I'm doing on my computer.

I also checked the event log again. Another kernal-power thing but nothing right before it. It does say there is an error with 'WMi' after I turn it back on though... no idea if this is related

''Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.''
