Hi everyone,

So last week was my birthday, and my family brought me a 42 inch tv. I was thinking about plugging my current PC into it so I can play video games on 1080p, since I have 900p monitor.
Here are my pc's specs:

FX6300, Gtx 760 gigabyte, 8gigs of ram at 1600, 1tb hdd and an asrock 970 extr 4 mobo.

I have a good social life, and I find myself feeling worse and worse about playing on a pc, idk why, it just happens. So yesterday I was thinking about selling my pc and getting a ps4. I don't really care about the graphics (obviously I do care but the main thing for me is to play on decent graphs with rock solid fps), I just like to chill around sometimes and play some games. I think a console would be a much better option for me, I wouldnt have to worry about upgrading the pc and adjusting the video options and ****, I could just sit in front of the tv with friends and play. I know I seem like I've already made up my mind, I just wanted to know what you guys think.

Btw thx for sharing your thoughts and have a nice day!

Good choice: PS4

If its more fun to play games on PS4 instead of a PC, then do so. If you expect the PS4 to be a flawless 60fps machine you are wrong. Its no more than a PC with static hardware, and not all PCs get solid 60fps on all games right?. That lets devs decide what your experience will look like, not the hardware.

Also, there is hardly any difference between the resolution of 900p and 1080p, so performance wise, your current set up will work almost exactly the same on the TV. You should try playing games on the TV with your PC before you decide though!

All you do on the PC is play games? Work, design, ect? None of that?

Most people need a PC for these sort of things anyways. This whole "constantly upgrading" stick is just wrong. You only upgrade when you want to. You are actually saving in the long run too. PC games are cheaper and you don't have to pay another fee just to play games online.

I don't know how the PC isn't social either. Steam has built in services and there are a million other ways to talk to friends. If your buds can't pop onto steam or vent for a few seconds they aren't very good friends.

its not a downgrade actually, I have a beast gaming pc and a ps4. Graphics wise is almost identical. Cant really time the difference. PS4 does come a long way man. I have 2 770s and 2 780ti. My personal is 970.

PC is an open platform so it's impossible to beat it's hardware. Ergo, downgrade. "Graphics wise is almost identical" is a joke. Maybe if I compressed the hell out of my 4k video and put it on youtube. He's was probably referring to the fact that the PC is much more flexable than a PS4. Not only is the PS4's gaming library pathetic, it doesn't have a supporting app ecosystem, nor will it ever. The PS4 is just a gaming console, you can do so much more on a PC.

Youre talking about 4k gaming... DIfference.. Look at the guy pc specs... It would be a gaming upgrade if he were to get a ps4. LOL. 400bucks for a console system that produces amazing graphics comparable to a 1.2k desktop. I would say thats a great deal.

You have 3 144hz monitors (according to your sig at least) and you are telling me you cannot tell the difference between 120+ fps and sub 20-60fps? Do you go around buying what others think is cool. Maybe that money should have gone into monitors that actually have decent color reproduction or a higher resolution? Outside of FPS, those monitors are trash.

"I have both the ps4 and 3 monster PCs" Yeah cuz everyone can afford 3, 4 grand computers. I'l calling ***** or blind spoiled kid. What the hell would one person even do with 3 monster PCs? It's not like you'd buy 3 for gaming, you only need 1 for than. Lan with yourself?

You come into this tread and spout the same nonsense over and over. "There's no difference between PS4 graphics and PC". No one who's been PC gaming with a decent rig has even been coddled enough to say that. it's so contrived, I've been playing games with better graphics years before the playstation 4 even came out. I can get Skyrim to make the PS4 look like a tinker toy, that's how bad it is.

There's a reason the PS4 is only $400. "Amazing" graphics as you say is a joke. Only if you came for last gen consoles, which it appears that you have.

With that out of the way, the OP should be free to choose whichever platform he/she wants.

LOL here buddy let me show you my 3dmark page. Goodluck to you on reading so much bullshit thinking ps4 is bad. I have first hand experience. I have a 4k T.V. buddy. I know what a good screen look like. And Had 3x IPS panels before, but the tearing ghost lag input lag, pissed me off so I end up selling it. I play CSGO most of the time, so I need a higher refresh rate monitor. Also, I use 3 of these for surround gaming on certain games. I end up putting them to 60hz each because the hardware is not as strong yet. I'm not stupid. These TN panels aren't as bad as you think in terms of RGB. I am not being bias over "PC are better than Consoles" I have 2 high end PC. The 2 770s I had I end up selling it. The point I was trying to make is, the guy who created this post did not have a good computer for gaming, its a low entre level hardware. Buying a PS4 would definitely be an upgrade in terms of gaming. I have first hand experience in highend gaming and a Console ps4... I concluded the PS4 graphics is very up there! therefore, I feel a 400 dollar console vs. a 3.3k PC is incredible performance to price ratio. The graphics difference is not worth buying a high end pc to play the darn game... Experience yourself and you will see.

As I said, barely any difference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu3wtz1oVSM. I didnt make this video, but from my experiences with high end gaming vs. ps4, there is barely any difference as of right now. Its better trading a ps4 for a low to mid end PC. (GAMING). Thank you very much, have a great time thinking PC is far superior. LOL.

You have a 42" TV, a tablet, a notebook, and you're wondering if you should sell your PC in favor of a PS4.

FWP.

It's funny that you even linked a youtube video. Yeah highly compressed 30 fps video will surely tell me which is better *facepalm

It's not an opinion that the PC has better graphics, it's a fact. It will always be fact. You know why? Consoles are just modified PC parts. The "next gen" doesn't even come from high end PC parts. The CPUs in all 3 next gen consoles are slower than what my grandma has. Again, these are FACTS.

Your fine with good enough graphics, great. Leave your console favoritism at the door when you are on a forum touting PC. Coming here and talking lies is just asking for a fight.

Look here buddy. Most of the games are optimized for consoles.. In this case frames dont matter. Although console would get lower frames, but it is more consistent. As a result, smoother game player. The point is right now dont act like desktop computers are far superior.
