So im on a budget.

R9 270, with 8gb ram
or
GTX 670, with 4gb ram

so upgrading a GPU is harder than upgrading ram so what path should i take?
note;
if i get 4gb ram i will upgrade to 8gb later on

What about other GPUs at a similar price point that outperform the 270, such as a GTX 760? Should be cheaper than a 670.
If you're gonna get another 4GB module in the near future then I guess it's not a big deal, but just know that there are some games where 4GB is not enough to play smoothly, such as Battlefield 4.

I don't know whereabouts he lives, but where I live the GTX 760 is only about $20 more than an R9 270, and it certainly warrants that price. Out of curiosity, Sithex, what PSU do you have?

A GTX 760 would require 2x 6-pin connectors, an R9 270 would require 1x 6-pin connector, and a GTX 670 and R9 280 would both require a 6-pin and an 8-pin.

Im building a new pc
so either
R9 270 with 8gbs
or
gtx 670 with 4gbs (because 670 is more expensive)

It's from a song by Five Finger Death Punch :)

Well if you don't mind having to avoid Battlefield 4, then I'd say grab the 670.
