Radeon r9 290x in PCI express 2.0?

I want to upgrade my graphics card to a Radeon r9 290x, but it says its for PCI 3.0 and I have a 2.0. Will it still work?

Except he's right. The GTX 970 Beats the R9 290x in every benchmark I've seen, uses gobs less power and is cheaper. She may not have asked but this forum is here to offer advice. In this case, it was good advice.

And don't get me started on AMD from a driver's standpoint. I just coughed up $1,900 in graphics cards with a big fat smile on my face because I knew I was getting away from R9 290x's in crossfire.

Essentially =/= the same

And there's nothing wrong with AMD drivers? Search the forums on this website about all of the people getting BSODs and freezing after driver updates. Those are just a couple of the problems. I know because when I was going through it, I was scouring the internet looking for help and founds LOADS of people with the same issues or different issues altogether.

You could also search the forums for NVidia drivers BSoD and get tons of results.

Neither team has perfect drivers. Also some of the problems are caused be faulty hardware (DOA/etc)

Essentially is as close as the same as you can expect. In some games the 290X pulls ahead in others the 970 pulls ahead.
