External hard drive no longer recognised by ANY computer or device

I have recently purchased a SAMSUNG external hard drive, 1TB. It worked fine for the first month and I used it fairly regularly for a range of data.
During one transfer of e-books onto the hard drive, the computer I was using (Microsoft, windows XP) suddenly did not recognise the hard drive and it would not show up in any computer menu I could find.
I tried the hard drive in the USB port of my television, WD smart media player, Windows Surface, Mac desk top and another Windows desk top computer to no avail. None of these devices/computers could recognise the external hard drive.

I thought it may be the cable, but I have replaced it and it makes no difference; the hard drive still does not show up in My Computer or any variation of that menu.

I ran data recovery software, but that as you may have guessed, didn't work either.

Please help!

Solution
Data recovery software cannot be expected to work on a drive that the system doesn't recognise, such software is intended to be used on a fully working drive on which data has been accidentally deleted.

It seems your external hard drive may have failed.

Samsung hard drives have a 2-year warranty (or at least they have in the UK) so you should contact them & ask where you need to send it for repair or replacement.
