Hello everyone,
I'm new to overclocking, so after reading up on it some, I tried my hand at my first overclock.
System Specs:
AS Rock Z77 Extreme 4
i5 3570K
Hyper 212 Evo

I was able to get up to 4.4ghz.
The max temperature under load was 83C

Are these good results?

Thanks!

Voltage is too low, bumping up to 4.5ghz from 4.4ghz on that cpu is a big leap on most 3570k batches. It's generally not worth it at all. 4.4 sounds like your sweet spot.

How long was it tested for and with what stress tests? Personally I would run IntelBurnTest, Linx for no less than 30min's, preferably 1 hour. If stability is really important do 24 hour Prime95. But yea if 83c is your max on all cores it's fine it won't hit that in a real world scenario.

It should be fine, but if you notice any stability issues in the future I would probably give Prime95 a longer run.

No, it's an Ivybridge, it is probably not you putting thermal paste on bad its probably Intel's thermal glue. Some people delid their processors to try to apply their own TIM, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're willing to lose your processor.
