I just tried building my first PC out of these:
CPU: AMD FX-4300
MOBO: Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+
RAM: Team Vulcan 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 270X 4GB DirectCU II
PSU: Corsair Builder 500W
It's just a cheap lil' first-time rig to see if I could manage to build one.
I followed http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/274745-31-step-step-guide-building while I was building it.
When I power it on, all the fans turn on, but I get no display on my monitor at all (connected via DVI). The system speaker also doesn't make any sounds whatsoever.
I went through http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems and I'm still getting no visuals. I used the MOBO's ability to check RAM and it seems that my sticks are fine. I tried another CPU and nothing changed, so I'm assuming that's not the issue either.
I'm guessing the video card is to blame, but I wouldn't know why exactly or what I could do to fix it. I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to hardware though, so I'm here asking for any possible problems/solutions.
The monitor is a SAMSUNG S24C230L if that helps at all. I also tried outputting through HDMI to my TV and there's still no display.
